Announcement of new Manhattan area code 332

On March 25, 2015, the New York Public Service Commission announced the addition of area code 332 as a new overlay for Manhattan due to projected exhaustion of 212 and 646 numbers.

NPA 332 assigned as another Manhattan overlay code

During November 2015, area code 332 was assigned as a third overlay area code for Manhattan as existing numbering resources approached exhaustion.

NPA 332 overlays Manhattan

On June 10, 2017, area code 332 became active as a third overlay for Manhattan, joining 212 and 646. The new code was introduced due to the exhaustion of available numbers in the existing Manhattan area codes.
